Just want to know how life will be to live a like a fish! 🙂

From Above – Astronaut Photography with Don Pettit

The people who explore bring back images, and bring back stories of what these frontiers are like. I feel obligation to share this experience. So everybody else could at least participate through the eyes of people who do go into the frontiers. – Astronaut Photography with Don Pettit

Don Pettit

You’ve never seen space like this. This short film gives an inside look at how NASA Astronaut Don Pettit captures breathtaking images of Earth’s most famous phenomena – aurora, star trails, city lights, and more – from the inside the International Space Station. Read our interview with Don on our blog: http://smu.gs/1sgPwbz. See his photos up close: http://smu.gs/1uionEV.

Everest Wingsuit Jump

Everest Wingsuit Jump

The world is about to witness one of the greatest human feats ever captured on television – when California resident Joby Ogwyn attempts the first wing suit flight off the summit of Mount Everest. The epic event titled EVEREST JUMP LIVE will broadcast live on the Discovery Channel and in 224 countries and territories in May 2014.

“This is history in the making,” said Eileen O’Neill, Group President Discovery and TLC Networks. “Discovery Channel continues to bring live broadcast events unlike anything you’ll see on television – from Felix Baumgartner’s world record for the highest space jump to Nik Wallenda’s incredible tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon.”  Discovery will take viewers along the journey with two, one-hour pre-shows revealing Joby’s intense training and preparations for Everest.  The special will then culminate with a live 2-hour broadcast – showing Joby as he battles the grueling conditions on the way to Everest’s summit and ultimately takes the final plunge from the top.  Joby’s custom-made wingsuit will be equipped with cameras bringing a bird’s eye view as he descends more than 10,000 vertical feet at speeds of over 150 mph.

Cave at Heren Beach, Taroko, Hualien

Cave at Heren Beach, Taroko, Hualian

Cave at Heren Beach Taroko Hualian (1)_resize

We stop for a break at Heren beach at Hualien near Taroko National Park.

Try to find some good bouldering area on the beach and actually there are plenty of them. All good Marble for boulder even climb with.

But this cave that marked “洪龍” by locals at the entrance caught our eye.

It’s a vertical open crack at the beach and instantly become really narrow if you walk in. Temperature drop dramatically few meters in. A few more step you can feel the water dripping above your head. Keep squeezing your body in and suddenly there is an open space that you can rest a bit. But the crack after this become really narrow and skillful to squeeze through. Peek into the crack ahead you can see there is a bit of sunlight and you wonder if that’s the exit or not.

We quit exploring that day, shot some photos and videos and save this adventure for the next time.

Taiwan Time lapse Longdong, Hualian, Taitung

Taiwan Timelapse

A short time lapse film around Taiwan.

  • 1st Shot : Longdong Keelung

Long Cave (Longdong) is the largest bay on the Northeast Coast. It is favored with clear water and abundant marine life, including large numbers of colorful tropical fish, making it an out-standing spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. Also, the schools of fish that gather here make the bay a highly popular rock-fishing area.

At the southern edge of the park, the sheer sandstone cliffs of Long Cave (Longdong) Cape have become the premier rock-climbing destination of northern Taiwan. Since the cliffs are only 30-odd meters high and have a wide variety of surface forms, they are perfect for training in rock-climbing skills. At the same time, this area offers stunning vistas of Bitou Cape, Sandiao Cape, and Aodi Bay.

  • 2nd Shot : Cimu Bridge, Taroko, Hualian

Along Central Cross-Island Highway, after passing Jiuqudong (Tunnel of Nine Turns), you will arrive at Cimu Bridge(Motherly Devotion Bridge), which is an H-Shape hanging bridge with marble stone lions on each end and with marble lotus stones on two sides. The rock beneath the bridge looks like a frog. The frog-like rock is composed of black layer of schist at the top and white marble at the bottom. A pavilion was built on this frog rock, becoming the crown on the frog. This was built by late President Chiang Jing-guo, in memory of his mother, during construction of the road. Cimu pavilion area is on the east side of the bridge, built by late President Chiang Kai-shek, in memory of his mother, Mrs. Wang.

This area where Laoxi River flowing from the marble valley into Liwu River is called the “Heliu” which stands for “merging flows.” The cliff has two different rocks layers. Going west after the turn, on the river terrace is the Heliu camping area. It has space for eleven tents. There is no charge and a first come, first served method operates. Remember that the parking space is limited and that during summer vacation, holidays and weekend this will always be a very popular site for family outdoors activities.

  • 3rd Shot : Mr. Brown Avenue, Taitung

A small country avenue in Chihshang Township of Taitung County becomes widely popular due to a commercial of Mr. Brown Coffee. It is called a “green road of paradise.” It has vast green rice fields without a wire pole along the roadside. You can truly feel how borderless it is. The avenue has good views for photograph and can bring your mind away from the hustle. Come to experience such pure relief in person.

  • 4th Shot : Liji Badlands, Taitung

Liji Badlands was formed by the uplifting of soft marine sediments above the surface of the sea and their subsequent erosion into an infinite number of small gullies where no blade of grass can grow. The resulting topography resembles the badlands of Lunar World in Gang Mountain (Gangshan), Kaohsiung City. This unusual geological area, which is about two kilometers long and one kilometer wide, can be viewed from either Beinan Bridge or Liji Bridge.
